The town’s main museum complex in the historic 18th century Barracks houses the Town’s Museum & Art Gallery, featuring part of the internationally-famous Burrell Collection, the Regimental Museum of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers and “By Beat of Drum”, telling the story of the British infantryman through the ages.
Regularly changing art exhibitions are on display at The Gymnasium Gallery and Dewar’s Lane Granary Gallery and at Berwick Watchtower Gallery in Tweedmouth.

The Maltings Theatre and Cinema offers a wide-ranging programme of films and live entertainment ranging from plays to music and dance, tribute acts to stand-up comedians, as well as performances staged by local community and youth organisations.
The annual programme of activities and events in the district ranges from traditional customs such as the Riding of the Bounds in May and the Tweedmouth Feast and Crowning of the Salmon Queen in July, to events such as the Cittaslow Mouth of the Tweed Festival in July, Hertage Open Days, the Berwick Food & Beer Festival and Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival in September, and Berwick Literary Festival in October.
