Getting around Berwick

The best way to see the town is by taking a walk round our unique Elizabethan ramparts.

An hour at an easy strolling pace allows time to walk the entire circuit and take in the spectacular views!

Access via ramps means that the walk around the ramparts can be enjoyed by everyone.

Look out for the traditional Berwick serpent-shaped seats offering a place to rest and take in the views on the ramparts and all around the town.

In addition to the ramparts and bastions, our parks, the riverside and the golf course all provide wonderful greens spaces affording splendid views along the valley of the River Tweed and the Northumberland heritage coast,

To facilitate movement around the town for all abilities, the approaches to most pavement crossings are felt underfoot with studded paving and have dropped kerbs.
